About me

Hi… and welcome. Thanks for popping by.

I’m a newcomer to the city of Nottingham, resident since mid-June 2018 (so, at the time of writing, I’ve lived here for about 3 weeks). Although I’ve been visiting the city for the last eight years – since I first met my other half who was born and bred here – it is now my home.

I’m a Home Counties girl by birth and for the last few decades I have mostly lived in a small town on the Hampshire/Surrey/Berkshire borders called Yateley. But with my two daughters both flying the nest and buying their own homes, I have bitten the bullet and moved in with my partner – his name is Phill.

This blog is the story of me getting to know my adopted city, it’s history, it’s people, it’s entertainment, it’s food and drink… in fact, absolutely anything that takes my fancy. It may be random at times but it will be all about Nottingham and the surrounding area and my efforts to get to know it and integrate.

I’d welcome your thoughts, any ideas of things for me to explore, or just a simple ‘hello’ from time to time.

My name is Debs and I’m a Nottingham Newbie.
